The Meeting
The Meeting is a large Ski and Snowboard movie premiere in Aspen, Colorado. This weekend myself and many friends will be making the six hour venture for the event. It consists of over 15 movies, from all walks of the skiing and snowboarding lifestyle ranging from park to big mountain features. It will go from Friday Night through Sunday morning, and will feature many of todays brightest stars. The meeting also hosts a fashion show featuring next years top products and gear. It is also known as one of the biggest parties in the Ski Industry each year, so it is a must attend event! I will check back in next week with a full update from what should be a fantastic weekend!
4bi9/Level 1 Premiere

Last Thursday, September 25th a ski movie production company that I am in, 4bi9 Media and Level 1 Productions had a premiere at the Murray Theater in Murray, Utah. Myself, and two other friends in the film all had to change mid-terms we had that night to attend. Everything worked out perfectly, as we all made it there on time and ready to greet the guests. We got in our cars and began to caravan out to Murray which is about a twenty minute drive from our homes in Salt Lake. Whe arrived at around 6:30 pm about a half an hour before the doors opened and there was still a decent crowd already there waiting. The crowd began to grow, and by 7:30pm the theater was packed with people! Many friends and familiar faces, and also tons of other people I had never seen before, and all of them seemed excited for the movie! We signed some posters, and then it was show time. My friend Roy went on stage to freestyle and start the festivities. Then myself and the rest of the 4bi9 crew went on stage to introduce our movie, Slamina. The crowd was wild as Brady Perron's opening segment recieved many ooh's and ahh's from the packed house. The crowd stayed excited all the way through the movie, and then Henrik Harlaut's section came on to end the movie and the cheers did not stop. I was excited to see everyone be pumped and excited on our movie as the crowed showed tons of support. Then it was time for product toss and prize give away. Then Turbo came on, Level 1's movie, with the crowd equally excited on the abilities shown by its athletes. Then it was off to the after party, and I don't really need to go into that, but it was ridiculous! All in all it was one of the most exciting and fun nights of my life. Thanks to everyone for coming out and showing support!

Escapeing the Heat

The snow has melted away, and the valley continues to heat up once again. To escape the heat myself, and a few friends from 4bi9 went into Big Cottonwood Canyon to hike to Lake Blanche. It was 85 degrees when we left our house in Salt Lake around one in the afternoon, but with the windows down we could feel the temperature dropping with climbing of elevation. Once we parked in the lot at the "S" turn it was roughly 75 degrees. We had quite the hike ahead of us so we briskly began to walk up the mountain. However, we did decide to take frequent cool off breaks in the river to keep us motivated! We continued our journey seeing deer quite frequently as we continued our hour and a half trek up the mountain to Lake Blanche.
Once we arrived it was breath taking; with pristine water, glaciers, and water falls surrounding us. We also had sundial peak to our left, and to our right was the valley back down into Big Cottonwood. It was now about four in the afternoon and 65 degrees; could not have felt any nicer outside with the sun warming us up. We decided to enjoy it and play in the water, and hike around the rocky plateau we were situate d on. We then sat around and enjoyed the sunset; everyone thrilled to be out of the city and i n the mountains. We then decided to make the hike back down to the car and call it a day. However, this is not where the story ends, sadly. After we were roughly a third of the way down the mountain I realized i had forgot my keys at the top! I sprinted back up to try to find them before dark. Luckily a nice man had found them and I retrieved them once i hit the lake again. When all was said and done I got my keys and ran down, reaching the rest of the group back at the car before dark. All in all it was a terrific day up in the mountains.

First Snow!

It was the night of August 31st and I had been checking the weather for the past few days, itching to get up into the mountains to be in the snow. Waking up early and ready to go after checking out Alta's webcams to see snow on the ground! I was so excited and tried to get everyone around me motivated, but to no avail. Then Giray called me around noon just as excited as I was so he came down to pick me up, as we were off to Guardsman's pass!
Guardsman's Pass is a summer road that connects Big Cottonwood Canyon to the town of Park City, UT. It is the road that goes the highest up in the area so going up late in the day, we figured it was our best shot.
We had two full cars driving up as we watched the snowline begin to creep closer to us, and the temperature outside kept dropping. We drove through the clouds, as the snow had stopped up there, then we reached the top of the pass. There was a little bit of snow around us, not enough to ski, which we were hoping to do. However, there was plenty of snow to go play around in, so we headed up the ridge to the top of this peak towards more snow, and
a better view.It was beautiful, and about 30 degrees at the summit. There was about two inches of snow, so we proceeded to throw snowballs, and make snowmen. Everyone was so excited to get out of the hot summer attitude, and get a glimpse of what was to come.
Though it is now hot in the city again, and all the snow has melted, it was great to get up to the mountains and enjoy the first snowfall. There is still plenty of fun to still have in the summer, and I am enjoying it. Winter will have it's time to come, and when it is that time, I will be joyful; as that is the true reason i moved here in the first place.
